Edwin When Edwin moved to Brattleboro in 1991, he came with a degree from a five year program in Trees and Flowers, and Garden Installation and Maintenance, from the State Horticulture School in Utrecht, the Netherlands (the Rijks Middlebare Tuinbouwschool Utrecht). He also had ten years experience doing design, installation and maintenance work in Dutch gardens large and small. He now combines his Dutch background and innate designer's eye with more than two decades of work in southeastern Vermont and southern New Hampshire. His experience has brought familiarity with the issues that face gardeners here in New England, such as plant choices specific to local micro-climates, drainage, and elevation change with its problems and possibilities. His creative vision allows him to listen to a client's wants and needs and come up with aesthetically pleasing and practical design alternatives for a given garden space. Linda Linda's BA in Environmental Studies from Earlham College (Richmond, Indiana) led her to a range of outdoor-centered work in a variety of places early in her career. She moved to Brattleboro in 1984 and brought Edwin here after their travels and marriage. Since Holland's Bloom's inception she has been the administrative navigator for the business, as well as maintenance specialist for clients' gardens and the gardens at home. Her detail orientation and pleasure in a job well done continue to provide motivation as she approaches whatever the gardens have to offer. Other Personnel Holland's Bloom is a small company. Our work crews through the years have consisted of Edwin and/or Linda and one (or sometimes more) people each season we have enjoyed working with. Often our employees have an international flavor, but they always share our commitment to doing quality work with an attention to detail. |
